Apparent Signs

The most apparent sign that you have been drugged is a sudden altered state of consciousness and loss of bodily control.

These signs will also likely follow shortly after ingestion:

  • Blurred vision
  • Sudden sedation
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Dizziness
  • Reduced alertness
  • Decreased energy
  • Disorientation
  • Feeling overly intoxicated when minimal amount of alcohol was consumed
  • Memory impairment of previous night

Warning: If you believe you have been drugged and are experiencing any of these symptoms, please head to a safe location, inform the bar tender, and call the authorities if possible.

How To Be An Active Bystander…

If you witness someone drugging a drink, attempting to, or actively taking advantage of an incapacitated person here’s what you can do:

  • If you notice a drink has been spiked, inform the person that their drink is unsafe.
  • Offer help to those who are exhibiting strange behaviour, particularly behaviour associated with someone being drugged.
  • If you witness a drink being drugged unattended, ensure the drink is disposed of.
  • Upon realizing someone has been drugged, obtain immediate medical attention.
  • If someone informs you of their plan to drug an individual, take action by asking for assistance and informing the authorities.
  • Act only when it is safe to do so, your safety is of utmost importance!
